Google Members

Sync the Union County Events Calendar with the calendar on your phone or computer. It's a great way to stay informed on current events.

1. Not a member of Google. It's free to join. Visit www.google.com and register for a Gmail account .
2. Email a request to shawneeheartland@gmail.com and include your Gmail email account address.
3. Once your request has been received at the Chamber you will be added to our list of guests.
4. Soon after, you will receive a message from Google Calendar confirming your request.
5. Log in to Google/Calendars and sync your calendars.
6. Smart Phone uses, go to your calendar setting and add the Chamber Events Calendar to your list of visible calendars. It's different on all phones so if you have problems try searching for a forum online that is set up to offer help for your model.
7. For smart phone users a recommended download would be the "Business Calendar" found in Google Play. This free app will increase the power of your phones existing calendar. Like all apps this may or may not work on your phone and the Chamber can't be held responsible for apps loaded on your phone. That said it is not a requirement... just a suggestion.

Join the Chamber of Commerce

Become a proactive member of the Union County Chamber of Commerce, participate in the events and projects that interest you and highlight your business. Display your certificate of membership with pride, it shows the community you care about Union County.

Marketing Benefits (highlights)

• Annual Business Exposition: Held in April, this well attended event offers businesses the opportunity to gain exposure in the community they serve.
• Annual Fundraiser Dinner: One of our major fund raisers for the year. This events offers a comfortable environment for networking as well as a great evening of dinning and entertainment.
• Monthly Membership Meetings: These meetings are open to all members and guests. Usually featuring a quest speaker of interest to the business community. Also a very good opportunity to speak on behalf of your business.
• Ribbon Cuttings, Grand Openings & Mixers: This Member hosted event is marketed in the Chamber E-Notes and often gets photo coverage in the local paper. An excellent forum for showing off your business or promoting future developments.
• Internet Exposure: The Chamber offers (free to members) a listing in our business directory as well as the opportunity to (in 25 words or less) describe your business to the world. This benefit alone is worth the cost of membership.

Community Involvement (highlights)

• Farmers Market: This Chamber hosted annual event starts in April and runs through September. Each Tuesday morning this, ever growing, outdoor market is bringing growers and consumers together near the corner of Davie and Main Street in Anna, Illinois.
• Golf Outing: One of our biggest fund raisers, this annual event, usually held in May, at the Union County Country Club is an opportunity for business and organization leaders and representatives to get together for a day of fun on the greens.
• Union County Day with the Southern Illinois Miners: This Chamber fundraiser is held at Rent One Park in Marion, Illinois. An opportunity to come together with your fellow neighbors for an evening of family fun. Businesses can also advertise in the Ball Club Programs which runs for the entire season.
